This past weekend marked another successful weekend for our athletes, teammates and friends. Among others, many toed the line at the Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii and posted great results.

Ironman World Championship

  • Jana Richtrova competed on her 1st Ironman ever after she qualified for the World Championship at the Buffalo Lake Springs 70.3 back in June.  She had a great day completing the race in 10:46hrs, good enough for 15th place in her Age Group. She had a great performance having a great bike split (beating many pro females) and solid run which also was her 1st marathon ever.
  • Hana Sykorova, (the other czech and Jana’s friend) also successfully completed the race after a tough day in 11hr
  • Boston Triathlon teammate (BTT) Matt Pokress had a great result with a 9:52hr finish
  • Friend Brian Murphy finally made it to the big island and battled a tough day to finish in 10:57hr
  • Austin Whitman (BTT)also had a great day completing the race in 10:07hr
  • James Strain was able (BTT)  to get revenge from a mechanical that prevented him of finishing last year and completed the race in 10:37hr
  • Bryan Canterbury (BTT) also completed his 1st Ironman ever and did so in 13:54hr
  • Woody Freese finally achieved his dream of racing at the big island after years of trying via the lottery and he successful completed it in 14hr
  • Other notables, colleague Colin Cook, coach from Peak Tri Coaching had a tough day at the office but still, completed the race in 11hr. Also, colleague Jeff Capobianco, coach from Breakthrough Performance completed the race in 11hr

Other results:

  • Jim Carlisle: 1:33hr at the Newport Half Marathon (better than top 10% overall)
  • Coach Brett Completed the TARC Fall classic ½ marathon trail race in 01:59hr

A few late results from the previous week:

  • Jodie Blank competed in here first ever Half Marathon at the BAA ½ and finished in 2:08hr — Comments from Jody: :”FELT AWESOME THE WHOLE TIME!!!! LOVED IT!”
  • Aaron Beer also completed the BAA Half marathon – 2:28hr
  • Brenda Chroniak completed Applefest Half marathon – 1:55hr
  • Jess Douglas BAA Half Marathon – 1:44hr
  • Coach Brett, finished his 1st Ultra marathon ever, the VT 50 miler! read his race report 
  • Noah Manacas completed the Gloucester Cyclocross Grand Prix day 2, 1st race of the season in top 40 and the next week he completed the Providence Cyclocross Festival Day 1 and finished top 30
